Ruth Gebreyohannes

Junior Project Manager

Ruth is a German-Ethiopian-Eritrean academic and civic advocate working at the intersection of human rights, peacebuilding, and transnational solidarity. She is completing her Master’s in International Affairs at the Hertie School Berlin, specialising in Human Rights and Global Governance, building on a Bachelor’s in International Business with a regional focus on China.

Her experience spans EU public affairs in Brussels, political communication at the municipal level, and international coordination in Hong Kong. At the core of everything she does is a commitment to gender equity and women’s rights: the conviction that peacebuilding and civic participation are only meaningful when they centre women’s voices and experiences.

Ruth believes political participation is far more than voting. It is the ongoing practice of showing up, speaking up, and building bridges across difference.
